Global Leadership

Charis training and coaching prepares global leaders to achieve the international competencies needed to achieve cultural objectivity, think with a global mindset, act with global-centric leadership behaviors, influence and mobilize a world class culturally diverse team.

Leadership Development
In the Global Leader Competencies program leaders are challenged to expand their global thinking, explore steps to working in an increasingly complex remote international environment, act with global-centric leadership behaviors, and achieve their goals through shared leadership, empowering others, leveraging technology and developing a high performing team. Drawing upon research, extensive global management literature review, conference proceedings and the combined experience of the Charis team, this program brings the most state-of-the-art thinking on global leadership today. Modules may be presented at leadership summit meetings, or two- and three-day programs are available for professional development for upper management who lead global operations.

Individualized performance development is also available. Clients have the option of the online assessment, The International Profiler™, which scores individual competencies in 22 areas required for working internationally, followed by in-depth debriefing. Charis’ Global 360 Assessment is a 360 multi-rater assessment that builds a more comprehensive roadmap to develop global leadership competencies in the context of interdependent working relationships.

Global Teams
In Managing Global Teams, global managers and project leaders will learn how to gain top performance with remote team members of different cultures. Gain insight to culture’s effect on planning, taking initiative, teamwork and change. Key results from the most comprehensive study on effective leadership around the world will show how to recognize and bridge key differences among Asians, Europeans and Americans. Case studies and discussions on managing global performance produce the examples and action steps to apply immediately to planning, teambuilding, communication, motivation and leading change.

Building Global Teams training or Teambuilding Interventions will benefit from using the Team Trust Indicator™, a carefully researched instrument, available online from Charis and WorldWork, Ltd. The TTI provides team leaders with a clear report of the types of 'trust gaps' within the team and how to address them to gain team alignment and improve performance.

Leading and Managing Change
Add the typical change project implementation issues to the risk of doing business in international, diverse, or intercultural contexts. Mistrust between individuals and between organizations can flare up quickly as people misunderstand each other's messages and intentions due to their different cultural perspectives. This hands - on, "earning while learning" Leading Change across Cultures workshop increases the speed and degree of success of global change projects by making sure your strategy is supported by adequately addressing the people, process, and intercultural/global side of the change execution equation. Participants apply a filter of intercultural competencies, cultural dimensions, and culture specific values using core change processes or levers in order to increase financial results of projects that involve diverse or intercultural stakeholders and environments.
